Black Bean Dip
Creamy, garlicky, healthy and delicious! This black bean dip is the perfect dip for any gathering, to serve along with tortilla chips.
There are so many classic dips to be had, but it’s nice to sometimes make a dip that is not the typical hummus, sour cream and onion, or salsa. This dip is the perfect appetizer, to serve while hosting a gathering or simply to have while watching a movie with the family or on your own.
What Do I Need To Make It?
This recipe only calls for a handful of ingredients.
Canned Black Beans – You definitely want to use canned black beans for a recipe like this. It’s a nice quick and easy option. Unless you have some leftover cooked dried beans that you need to use up. That would also work great!
Garlic – Garlic cloves work better then garlic powder, because the raw garlic gifts the dip a nice bite.
Onion – Again raw onion, versus onion powder works best.
Cumin – The cumin add some nice warmth and goes great with black beans.
Cilantro – Cilantro is another ingredient that goes great with black beans; therefore, great with this dip!
This dip comes together incredibly fast. I make it for movie night with the family and sometimes we don’t have tortilla chips. What I do in that case is fry up some fresh tortilla chips.
How To Fry Fresh Tortilla Chips
Make fresh tortilla chips is very easy! All you need is corn tortillas. White or yellow corn, both work just as well. Simply stack 3-4 corn tortillas on a cutting board and cut into 1/4ths or 1/8ths, depending on how big you want your chips. Then simply fry them in vegetable oil, on high heat until they turn golden. Place fried chips into a colander and allow excess oil to drain. Then enjoy with dip!
