These Chickpea Nuggets are perfect for snacking and for little ones. Store bought plant based alternatives are so convenient, and easy to find now. That being said, you don’t really know everything that goes into it and lets be real here. Some of the plant based alternatives can be a bit on the pricy side.

My little ones love these and my vegan chicken tenders, they just cant have enough. It’s nice to eat things that you make yourself and you know exactly what went into it. Not to mention these are very easy to customize, with your own flavors. You can use this recipe as a base to make the nuggets and add any flavors you like. You can even add a bit of spice to these and make them spicy nuggets.

Can I freeze these?

You can definitely make a big batch of these and freeze the for up to 3 months. When you take them out of the freezer simply back them in the oven or air fryer to reheat and you are good to go.

I love to make these for little day trips, kids lunches, and for road trips. However, these are also very adult friendly and eating these dipped in some barbecue sauce or ketchup is fantastic!

How do you make them?

Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Place all the ingredients EXCEPT for the bread crumbs and turmeric into a food processor and pulse until the chick peas have become smooth.

Step 2: Mix bread crumbs with turmeric until well combined. Take spoonfuls of the chickpea dough and form into nuggets.

Step 3: Coat nuggets in bread crumbs and place onto a parchment paper lined baking tray. Bake for 10 minutes or until slightly golden.

Tip: For added golden color spray nuggets with oil before baking.

  • 1/2 tsp nutritional yeast
  • Salt and pepper to taste
