This is my personal skincare routine. It is very minimal and may work very well for some and not so much for others. This is my natural skincare routine and what keeps my skin happy and healthy.

Natural Skincare

CLEANSER

As a cleanser I use water. I cleanse my face using water as I would have used any soap. I have completely gotten rid of any and all soap cleansers. I find that my skin thrives the most with this natural method. Soaps alter your skins natural PH levels and can cause many different negative side effects.

SCRUB

As a facial scrub I use sugar. It helps to remove dead skin and impurities in a much more gentle and natural way.

FACE MASKS

As natural face masks I like to use aloe gel straight from the plant and a turmeric paste. For the aloe I simply wash my face with water and rub aloe gel all over my face and go on with my day. No need for rinsing if you use it lightly. Aloe is refreshing, moisturizing, and is said to have anti aging properties.

 

The turmeric paste I use as a spot treatment for any trouble spots and as a full face mask if needed. I simply make a paste with a bit of turmeric powder and water and apply to the face. I leave that on for 5 minutes and wash it off. If there is yellow staining on my face I will go in with a scrub. Turmeric is known for its antibacterial properties, so its great for acne.

MOISTURIZER

Coconut oil can be used as needed for added moisture. Use with caution and test in same amounts if you are acne prone.

REST

Get your beauty sleep to keep your skin clear and healthy. Lack of adequate sleep will reflect on your skin.

TOWELS

Towels are a NO NO, in my skincare routine. Towels harbor lots of bacteria with all the moisture they absorb. Using a towel to dry your face increases the chances of breakout. I prefer to use toilet paper or paper towels. The only time you should use a towel on your face is if you use it once and wash it, using a clean fresh towel every time.

HYDRATION

Stay hydrated. Drink lots of water to maintain healthy skin and a healthy body as well. If you have a hard time drinking water, add a bit of lime or lemon juice.
