SIMPLE VEGAN DONUTS

Here's the thing, I have never had much of a sweet tooth other than when I was a kid and liked candy. I have never been into cakes, pancakes, donuts, cookies, chocolate,or anything breadish for the matter. I know what your thinking. "What is she!?" Any who, I make the occasional sweets upon request of my kids and hubby and I grew up eating these because my mom (who doesn't have a sweet tooth either) would make these whenever a craving struck. So here you are.

Simple Vegan Donuts

Ingredients

Donuts: 1 can biscuits Vegetable oil for frying 3/4 cup sugar

Glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar 1 1/2 tbsp non dairy milk Food coloring (optional) Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions Pop open your biscuit roll and one by one make a hole in the middle by simply pressing the center of each biscuit in between your thumb and index finger then gently stretch making the hole bigger being careful not to break them apart. Set aside until your oil is ready.

In a pan add a generous amount of oil to cover half of your donuts. Heat the oil on medium high heat. Then taking a tiny piece of the biscuit to test readiness of the oil drop it in and if it sizzles its ready and you can add you donuts in with enough space in between that they wont stick to eat other.

Once the donuts start turning golden around the edges you can flip them. In 1-2 minutes the other side should become golden and that means they are ready.

Remove your donuts from the oil and place them on a paper towel lined plate to absorb and excess oil. In a small bowl add you sugar (not the powdered sugar) and while the donuts are still warm but not to hot to handle. Dip one end of the donuts in the sugar and coat. Making sure to leave one end of the donuts without sugar. That is the side you will use for the glaze.

In a bowl mix together your glaze ingredients adding food coloring in the end if you choose.

Once you have your glaze done you can dip the clear side of your donuts in the glaze and coat well. Add sprinkles if you like. Set aside and allow for glaze to set a bit for 10 minutes. Then all that is left to do is ENJOY!
