Chocolate Overnight Oats



Overnight night oats can be so simple to make and also so convenient because you don't have to waste any time in the morning making breakfast. You can make it as delicious as you wish the night before. Set it and forget it! My favorite time to prep overnight oats are for gym days. On the night before a gym day I prep a delicious overnight oat and get some nutritious carbs and proteins in before a good workout.



The awesome thing about these overnight oats is that they can be so easily customized.

Things you can add for extra yumminess are...

-Frozen fruits and berries (the frozen fruits and berries add so much berry juice when they thaw out)

-Fresh fruits and berries

-Cacao nibs/chocolate chips

-Peanut butter (extra protein, perfect for pre workout)

-Raisins

-and so much more



Chocolate Overnight Oats

Servings: 1

Prep time: 5 minutes

Refrigeration time: 2 hours-overnight

Total time: 2hrs and 5 minutes



Ingredients

1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats

1/3 cup plant based yogurt, vanilla, plain or coconut

1/2 cup milk (dairy or dairy-free alternative)

1 tsp pure vanilla extract

1 Tbsp maple syrup, or agave

pinch of sea salt

1/2 Tbsp cocoa powder

Optional Toppings: shredded coconut, a few dark

chocolate chips, cacao nibs, and a sprinkle of cocoa powder.

Instructions

Start by pouring 1/2 cup old fashion oats,1/2 tbsp cocoa powder, 1/2 cup non dairy milk, 1/3 cup yogurt of your choice, I\'92m using vanilla, 1 tbsp agave or maple syrup, 1 tsp vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Mix well, cover, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before digging in!
